With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mr. Terry Brenton Lee Pitcher at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at the age of 80 years young. Terry was born on November 28, 1944, in Dark Cove, Newfoundland. Terry spent his formative years in the warmth of his small-town community. It was in Dark Cove that he met and married the love of his life, Peggy, on July 7, 1972. Together, they built a life defined by adventure, family, and faith, traveling across Canada before settling in Red Deer, Alberta, six years ago. Terry’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. A man of devotion to his Lord and Saviour, he lived in service to the Lord and was an active and cherished member of a Christian community that stretched from coast to coast. His deep spiritual beliefs and kind, warm-hearted nature left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. Above all, Terry’s love for his family was immeasurable. He delighted in supporting and celebrating their accomplishments, from cheering on his grandchildren at sports games, to witnessing the joy of his granddaughter’s wedding. He had a remarkable way of connecting with people – whether teaching a young driver the ropes, requesting personalized artwork for his walls, playing a game of Skip-Bo, doing puzzles with his grandchildren, or simply sharing a coffee and having a chat. Terry also had a passion for writing, especially poetry, which he used to express his faith, love, and reflections on life. He published a book of Christian poetry, gifting signed copies to each of his grandchildren, a treasure that will carry his words and spirit for generations to come. His poetry captured his creativity and devotion, serving as a beautiful testament to his life’s journey and values. Beyond his creative talents, Terry was a role model for kindness, love, and generosity. He inspired his family and those around him through his wisdom, warmth, and unwavering faith. To his children, grandchildren, and all who knew him, he was a guiding light – a man whose life exemplified purpose and love. Terry will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of fifty-two years, Peggy; his devoted children, Craig (Sherry) Pitcher, Tina (Shawn) Roblee, Ruth (Kim), Ivan Munksgaard, and Tammy Pauley; and he was the proud grandfather of Cassandra, Lauren (Will), Christopher, Marcus (Stevie), Lucas (Keirsten), Emma (Tyson), Hannah, Natalie, Haley, and Sophie, all of whom were deeply cherished. Terry will also be sadly missed by his sister, Louise (Woodrow) Mullet, his brother, Len (Tina) Pitcher, and countless members of his extended Christian family, who loved him dearly. Though he will be deeply missed, Terry’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched. He was an amazing man who lived a life full of love and kindness and was an amazing role model for his children and grandchildren. His family will forever hold him in their hearts.
