Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Terrance (Terry) Michael Chaisson announce his peaceful passing at the Health and Science Centre, St John’s on Friday April 28th 2023 at the age of 72 years. Born in Tompkin’s, NL. Terrance was the son to the late Cornelius and Mary Edith Chaisson (nee Green). He was also predeceased by his brothers, Peter, Paul, James, David and Cornelius (Con); sister, Mary Chaisson; brothers in-law, Wayne Wheeler, Roger Ryan and Micky Ryan.
With precious memories he leaves to mourn; his two daughters, Carlene Chaisson of Halifax NS, and Terrilynn Chaisson of Liverpool, NS; 6 grandchildren, Heavenlee, Maggie, Xavier, Basil, Grace and Benjamin. He also leaves behind the mother of his children, Wanda Chaisson of Halifax, NS; his sisters, Julie (Kevin) Lannigan of St John’s, NL, Wanda Wheeler of Stephenville, NL Karen (Dan) Rixon of Port aux Basques, NL, Susan and Cecilia Ryan of O’Regans, NL and Valerie (Les) Gerein of Fort McMurray, AB; brothers, Morris and Brian Chaisson of Codroy Valley, NL and Joseph (Judy) Chaisson of Halifax, NS; plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Terry worked his entire career with Marine Atlantic and was very proud of his work and his family. He was sure to bring a smile to many faces and he will live on through our fond memories of him. A special thank you to those who walked with him and helped him to the end of his journey. He was loved deeply.
There will be a visitation on Friday May 5th from 7-9 pm at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in Upper Ferry. The funeral mass will take place on Saturday, May 6th at 11 am officiated by Most Rev. Bishop Bart VanRoijen. Interment will follow at Mount St. Thomas Cemetery.
