It is with profound sadness that we
announce the unexpected passing of Tanya Helen Margaret
Melanson, age 44, of Amherst. Tanya passed
away at home on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.
Tanya worked as a PCW for a few years,
enjoying the residences at Gables Lodge and the Victorian
Manor. She was a loving friend and mother.
In addition to her mother Carolyn (Mark)
Conrad of Amherst, she will be dearly missed by her fiancé
Walter Cotton, Amherst; daughters Sophia Melanson, Amherst; and her
newest daughter, one month old Makayla Lena Cotton, at home; sisters
Terry (Tony) York, Crows Nest Pass, AB and Tammy Bednarek, Drayton
Valley, AB; as well as all of Walter’s family.
She was predeceased by her father Terry
Bednarek.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church
St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where her funeral service will be held
on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 2 pm Rev Jeff White
officiating. Burial will follow in the Windham Hill Cemetery
at a later date.
