Tammy passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at the age of 48.
She is pre-deceased by her father Robert Scott, mother Alva Scott and brother Steven Scott.
She was a loving mother to Eric Welsh, Shane Welsh, and Kyra Binkley. A dear sister to Christopher Scott and Kevin Scott. A fantastic grandma to Damien Welsh and Rose Welsh. A proud cat mom to River and Smarties.
Tammy was a proud and cherished member of the Custom Foam Systems team. She entered the workplace as a talented purchaser with an academic college degree in Supply Chain Management. She moved up the ranks, taking on new projects and ultimately landing in a management role. She spent her time there well and left a lasting mark on the company.
Tammy was diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer in April of 2022 which then progressed to stage 4 this past November. She fought through her treatments bravely and never let her illness stop her from maintaining a positive and hopeful attitude that uplifted the family when times were rough. Even in her later stages, Tammy managed to crack jokes and put a smile on the faces of her loved ones
What meant the most to Tammy was her family. She grew up with her 3 brothers who she loved relentlessly. She then went on to create a strong and beautiful family of her own which is something she was incredibly proud of.
Tammy has lived a life full of love and laughter. Her radiance will be greatly missed by everyone who’s had the honour of knowing her.
A Celebration of Tammy’s Life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 5th, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener , 519-749-8467. Tributes to be shared at 2 p.m.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation- Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
