We are deeply saddened to announce Sylvia’s passing in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 6, 2024, ten days shy of her ninety-seventh birthday. Beloved wife of the late Jack B. Miller. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Dr. Sharon Miller and the late Don Braziller, Gail Miller and the late Irving Baker, Brian Miller and Sabrina Della Fazia. Cherished grandmother of Adam Miller and fiancée Stéphanie Leclerc Valade, and Chanelle Miller. Adored sister and sister-in-law of Jackie (Shaindie) and the late Max Schwartz, the late Robert and the late Bella Stroll, the late Oscar Stroll and the late Ida Stroll Fishman, Lorna and the late Jack Stroll. Devoted daughter of our grandma, the late Annie and our grandfather, the late Papa Lou. Sylvia will be dearly missed by Florence (Fifi) Lezmy, Richard Grossman, Stephen Burrows, and by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thanks to the staff of Jewish Eldercare Centre for their respectful attention and benevolent care. Heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers, Vassy and Tess for their loving kindness, diligence, compassion, and humour. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Monday, April 8 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Independent Hebrew Section (C10), Baron de Hirsch Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at the Jewish Eldercare Centre, 5725 Victoria Ave., room 2C.17, Monday following burial until 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Contributions in Sylvia’s memory may be made to the “Sylvia Miller Memorial Fund for Cardiology Department” c/o the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251.
