It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sylvia Elizabeth Belliveau announce her passing at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary on Friday, February 7th, 2024, at the wonderful age of 87 years.
She will be sadly missed. Left to mourn are her 9 children: David Quinton of Corner Brook, Levi (Theresa) Quinton of Little Britain, ON, Mae (Peter) Kirouac of Pasadena, Lorraine (Julian) Russell of Fort McMurray, AB, Karen (Jerry) Bennett of Black Duck Siding, Sidney (Brenda) Cutler of Toronto ,ON, Marion Cutler of London, ON, Tammie (Thomas) GiVogue of Calgary, AB, and Mark Cutler of Calgary, AB; brothers: Maxwell (Renée) Dyke and Frank (Jane) Dyke, both of ON; 35 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; as well as a large circle of extended relatives and friends.
Sylvia was born in Corner Brook on September 8, 1936, and she grew up in Stephenville Crossing and Spruce Brook. She was predeceased by: her parents Maxwell and Louise Dyke; her sisters: Josephine Hunt, Alfreda Samms, Margaret Moyles and Nellie Hart; her grandchildren: Levi, Leanne, and Michael; great granddaughter MyKah; and great-great grandson River Bear.
Visitation will take place at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Tuesday, February 20th from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM.
A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, February 20th at 1:30 P.M. from the First United Church, St. Clare Avenue, Stephenville. Interment to follow at Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice in Sylvia’s memory.
