Susan Marie Sorensen of Nackawic, NB, wife of the late Calvin A.
Sorensen, passed away with family by her side on September 2, 2023 at
the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Susan was born at Fredericton, NB
in 1958, a daughter of the late Clayton H. and Carol E. (Bonnar)
Corey.
She is survived by her sons, Chris (Karla) and Corey (Jessica); three
grandchildren, Austin, Aiden and Audrey; a sister, Debbie Holt
(Glendon); in-laws, Milford Sorensen (Judy), Joan Allain (Willie) and
Cheryl Drisdelle (Roland) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Susan grew up in Marysville, NB where she met and eventually married
her husband Calvin, they met in High School and were inseparable ever
since. Together they raised two sport loving boys, Susan often
driving and supporting them to every practice and game.
Eventually Cal’s career took them to Nackawic, NB where Susan helped
Cal run the Save Easy/ Independant grocery store for 13 years, where
they fell in love with the community making many friends they loved
and cherished.
On Sundays you would find Susan watching football with Cal and playing
proline, Susan often winning, and took great pleasure in rubbing it in
to her boys! Or if it was baseball season, she would be cheering
«Go Jay’s go!» Susan spoke to her boys almost daily and
will especially cherish those «Happy Friday» calls after a
long work week.
Her Family finds peace that Suzy is reunited with her «Great big
Dane». And would like to Thank the Doctors, nurses, LPNs, and
PCAs at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Palliative Unit for all the
care and support.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis
Drive, Nackawic, NB on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 12 noon until 2
p.m. A private graveside committal service will then be held at Otis
Cemetery with Fr. David Mercer officiating.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Susan, the family
has suggested the Lung Association.
