Susan Leslie Baiden (née Pepperdene), a remarkable woman, passed away on the morning of January 5, 2024 at the age of 64, in the ICU of Scarborough General Hospital after bravely facing a 40-year battle with multiple sclerosis. Daughter of Richard Archer and Jean Elizabeth (née Geldart). Predeceased by her sons Nicholas, Ryan and Taylor and her parents.
Sue was born in Charlottetown P.E.I. on November 29, 1959 and grew up in the maritimes until the early 1970’s when the family moved to Toronto where she made many lifelong friends. She got her ECE and worked as a summer camp counselor for disabled children. Sue also participated in many charity runs. As she began her career in advertising she was diagnosed with MS and her world changed. Even so, her kind heart and bright spirit never wavered. She joined her local MS chapter and applied herself to fundraising and producing the newsletter. She touched the hearts of all who knew her and kept in touch with as many as she could, as well as she could through social media as her illness progressed.
In 1988 Sue met the love of her life, Larry. Jan 21 1989 was their first date and they married in the summer of 1990. She loved her family deeply and her life with them, despite her health challenges. She maintained an unwavering positivity and was able to accomplish many of her life’s goals. One of which was becoming a mother. Her deep love for her children showed everyday and she constantly volunteered at their schools and was involved in every hobby and sport her kids attempted. Sue excelled at strengthening her family and friends and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives.
Susan leaves behind a legacy of compassion and resilience. She is survived by her loving husband, Larry, and their two daughters, Alexandria (Evan) and Samantha as well as her sisters Deborah (Dave), Sandra (Tony), Joanne (Kathy), and Brenda (Mike).
Her absence is deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to be touched by her infectious happiness.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Ave. W. (2 stoplights west of Yonge St.) on Saturday, January 20, at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow.
