Susan Josephine Pecarskie (nee Yantha), passed away at the Pembroke Regional Hospital, Pembroke, ON, on Wednesday, 5 April, 2023. Susan (Nana) was born April 28, 1944, in Wilno, ON. She was the daughter of the late Helen Francis (nee Shushack), and Dominic Stephen Yantha.
Susan truly loved puzzles, bingo, and her soaps, especially Young and the Restless. She had an incredible memory for facts and figures and loved to document history. People that knew her saw a talkative and amazingly friendly person, but may be surprised to learn she was also a huge Toronto Raptors basketball fan. She spent many days “running the roads” to her daughter’s farm to feed the goats, ducks, and chickens. Besides her long time husband, Patrick, Brody will miss her dearly, as she was their constant companion. She believed that there is no greater thing in life than family.
She was a wife, mother, sister, nurse, mentor, and friend. Susan is survived by her husband and partner of 40 years, Patrick Pecarskie, her daughter Terri-Lynn (Tim), grand-daughter Keira, and sisters Rose-Rita (Norbert), Barbra-Ann (Joe), brothers David (Mary), Lornie (Aileen), and Ronald, and numerous nieces and nephews. She will forever be in the hearts of all her extended members of the family.
She was predeceased by her parents Dominic and Helen, her first husband Lawrence Dombroskie, sisters Epherzine, and Ann.
Her passing has left a huge hole in the lives of her family and in the community that can never be replaced. We can be reassured that she now walks with her mom and dad, and other family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Heubner Funeral home, Wednesday 12 April, from 5-9 pm, with Funeral Mass being held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wilno, Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 11:30 am.
