How can I begin to pay tribute to a man who was as wonderful as Steve Wild? Should I talk about his talent, his intelligence, his sense of humour, his love of adventure and his big heart? He embodied all of that and so much more.
His approach to life had all of us finding treasures everywhere, because he taught us how to see the magic in the world. He saw beauty in everyday life. He found joy in simple pleasures. He was so kind, so compassionate, and his love for many, many people flowed with ease. As a singer/songwriter, his sensitive soul created beautiful melodies and lyrics that expressed what it means to be human. It’s a tragedy that he was taken before he was able to perform his songbook for his family and friends. That was to have been his legacy. He was an amazing photographer whose art transformed the mundane into the extraordinary.
He loved his family deeply. He was a terrific husband and father. Our hearts are broken by his sudden, untimely passing. We will miss him endlessly. He would have wanted us to be tender and care for each other. He would have wanted us to be joyful and relish in all of life’s delicacies together. He set a fine example for living with passion and a wicked sense of humour.
Steve is survived by his wife Linda, sons Steve and Jeff, daughters Amanda, Rachel, Sarah, Emma and Krista, and his bonus daughter, Heather. Their partners were very special to him, too. His many beloved grandchildren will mourn his absence. His siblings, nieces, and nephews in England loved him deeply and they will miss him.
The world has lost a brilliant light.
