Stephen Brian Albee
1950-2024
It is with deep sadness and great shock that the family of Steve Albee
announce his passing on October 22, 2024. Stephen Brian Albee was
born July 6, 1950 in Ellsworth, Maine.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 23 years, his turtledove, Kathy
(Roe); his sons, Michael (Amy Lazaroff) and Chris; his step-sons,
Marty Burgess (Paris) and Van Burgess (Christi); eleven grandchildren
and three great grandchildren; his sisters, Eileen Huisman, Joanne
Sargent, Hazel Green and Jynes Albee; his brother, Noies Albee; two
sisters-in-law, Jeannie Swan (Lawrence) and Karen Bradley (Tom, his
brother from another mother); three brothers-in-law, Laurie Moody
(Valerie), Brad Roe (Nancy) and Reg Moody (Gloria); several nieces and
nephews and cousins.
Stephen was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Natalie Albee; his
first wife, Hanna Yeo; a brother, Frank Albee; sisters, Nicky Austin
and Barbara Salles and his much loved daughter Amy Catherine
Albee.
Steve worked for many years as a pipefitter/welder in many states
across the United States and in New Brunswick. After retirement,
Steve and Kathy built their home in Nackawic, NB, where he enjoyed
mowing, not only his lawn, but also that of his neighbours. He was
always the first to offer help to anyone who needed a hand.
Steve really enjoyed the wheeler trips he took with friends and taking
their friends on a slow cruise down the river on his pontoon boat.
Last year Steve and Kathy actually got to cross off an item on their
bucket list … a motor home trip to Newfoundland with Karen and
Tom. Steve was the only one who got ‘Screeched In’.
Steve’s favourite pastime was sitting on their deck, looking out
at the river, enjoying the sunrise.
A time of visitation will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis
Drive, Nackawic, NB on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 5 to 8 pm.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Stephen, the family
has suggested The Gathering Place (make cheques payable to Nackawic
and Area Wellness and put ‘The Gathering Place’ on the
memo line).
