Sr. Carmelita MacNeil Obituary
MacNeil, Sister Carmelita passed peacefully away at Presentation Convent, Cathedral Square, Saturday, December 23, age 83. Predeceased by her parents; Neil and Genita (Gallant); her brothers Allan, James and Melvin, sister Rita and brother-in-law Derrick. Leaving to mourn and celebrate her life are the Presentation Sisters, her siblings: Loretta Dawe, William (Audrey) MacNeil, Gloria (Clyde) Savidon, Ted (Dora) MacNeil, Paul (Clarissa) MacNeil, Theresa (Ivan) MacDonald, Gary (Daphne) MacNeil, Catherine (Fred) Flynn, Hughie (Melva) MacNeil, Kevin (Amanda) MacNeil, and Martin (Al MacKinnon) MacNeil; and nieces and nephews: Marina, Sonya, Stewart, Scott, Deanna, Nelson, Neil, Robert, Allan, André, Marcel, Laura, Kevin and Ian. Carmelita was also loved and cherished by her great nieces and nephews and a large circle of extended family and friends too numerous to mention.
Cremation has taken place. Waking at Presentation Motherhouse, January 12 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. with Vigil beginning at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist, January 13, at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at the Presentation Cemetery, Cathedral Square. Live streamed will be provided for those who cannot attend in person at www.the basilica.net/live/
