Peacefully passed at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Friday, May 17th, 2024 at the age of 92 years. Cherished wife of George for 73 years. Loving mother of Dora Hobbs (the late Gord) and Rose Blackwell. Proud grandmother of Serena Kelly (Ron), Sherri-Lynne Dolk, Shannon Calladine, Victoria Ffrench (Mike) and Abigail Muriella (Nick). Great grandmother of Ashley, Kristen, Colton, Alex, Devany, Daylan, Addyson, Beckham, Keith and Sophie, and great-great grandchildren Ethan, Hudson, Logan, Kaiya, Tyson and Annabella. Predeceased by her great grandchildren Harley, Tina and Brady. Will be sadly missed by her many extended family members and dear friends.
Funeral Mass will take place at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 65 Amelia St., Barrie on Friday, May 24th, 2024 at 10 am. Interment to immediately follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie. Guests are invited to remain for a reception gathering held inside the St. Mary’s Church. Should guests not wish to attend the cemetery interment, please make your way inside the Church Hall and the family will be joining once the interment is complete. A Livestream of the Funeral Mass will be made available on the St. Mary’s Church Facebook page. In lieu of flowers donations in Sophie’s memory may be made to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre designated to the Hudson Regional Cancer Program or the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County and are greatly appreciated by the family.
