SEARS (NICKERSON), Sonia Rosaleen – 90, It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sonia Rosaleen Sears announce her passing on August 2, 2023 at Roseway Manor, Shelburne. Born in Clark’s Harbour, October 7, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Smith and Edith Nickerson. She worked for Canada Post for 20 years before her retirement. She spent years enjoying camping at Ellenwood Provincial Park and Kejimkujik National Park with friends and family. Feeding birds and watching to see what would arrive at her feeders was a favourite pastime along with knitting and walking. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Tony); grandchildren, Crissy (Robert), Donnie (Lindsey), Brandon (Jacklyn), Lauren (Thomas); great-grandchildren, Ryan, Adam, Jacob, Gil, Leah, Harper, and Harlow; daughter-in-law, Aimee. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Donnie; son, Gil; brothers, Eugene, Louis; infant sister, Irene; and companion, Cyril. The family would like to thank the staff of Roseway Manor for their care, kindness and compassion. A visitation will take place at the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, from 6-8 pm, Saturday, August 5. The funeral service will follow on Sunday, August 6, 3 pm, at the West Head Wesleyan Church with Pastor Vince Robertson officiating. A reception will follow in the church immediately after service. Memorial donations may be made to Roseway Manor Van Fund, 1604 Lake Road, Shelburne, or a charity of choice.
