It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Solange Amzallag announces her peaceful passing on Thursday, February 22, 2024. Loving and devoted wife of the late Solomon Amzallag. Beloved and respected mother and mother-in-law of Danielle and Henri Amar, Josiane and the late Jaïs Ohayon, Anna Amzallag, Debbie and Lukas Stahl, Karen and Anthony Tille. Cherished and treasured “Mémé” and “Mami” of Philip, Nathaniel and Joshua Amar; Jordan, Jessica, Jeremy and Jason Ohayon. Proud great-grandmother of Liya, Romy, Noy, Elijah and Eli. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Henri and Violette, Bernard and the late Shelley, Rachel and the late André, Nina and the late David, the late Alice and the late Prosper, the late Margot and the late Jacques, the late Yvonne and the late Jacques.
Solange will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Her greatest accomplishment in life was her unconditional love and devotion to her family. She was a devout woman who believed in the good of all. Her beautiful smile and big loving heart brought joy to all those whose lives she touched. She was the light of her family; a chef par excellence, her tables were legendary, and she had no greater nachas than when gathered together with her family to celebrate Shabbat and holidays.
Heartfelt thanks to the many doctors and nurses at the Jewish General Hospital for their care and compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W., on Sunday, February 25 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Memorial Park Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva Private, Services at the Spanish & Portuguese Congregation.
