It is with heavy hearts that the family of Simon Alan Laurence Brooks, 75, of Lunenburg, announces his passing on Friday, September 15th, 2023 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, VG Site in Halifax.
Born in Bournemouth, England he was a son of the late Alan and Oenone (Patch) Brooks.
Simon was a respected psychiatrist who wrote a book on the subject. He enjoyed music, history, poetry, model building, reading, gardening, and sailing. He loved spending time swimming with his grandchildren.
Simon was a member of St. Norbert’s Roman Catholic Church, Lunenburg.
Simon is survived by his wife, Ann, sons, David, Thailand, Thomas (Arlene), Halifax, Matthew (Emily) Rochester, New York, sister, Therese Assouad, England, grandchildren, Leah, Claire, Anna, Elizabeth, Julia and Freya.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #3, Lunenburg. A service to celebrate Simon’s life will be held at St. Norbert’s Roman Catholic Church, Lunenburg on Thursday, September 28th at 2:00 PM, Deacon Patrick Morris officiating. Interment will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Norbert’s Roman Catholic Church, Lunenburg.
