Shirley Barbara Creelman – 72, Valley, passed away
peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at home. Born in
Truro, she was the daughter of the late Orie and Isabel (Millen)
Singer.
Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and trusted
babysitter to 66 children. She loved to keep active with her daily
walks with her walking group. She also enjoyed being an active member
of First United Church, the UCW and attending Arts and Crafts. When
Shirley was not spending time with friends and family, she could be
found camping in Shediac where she made many lifetime
friends.
When Shirley was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, she faced
it with a determined spirit and maintained a remarkably positive and
upbeat attitude. We would like to thank the tremendous outpouring of
support from friends who reached out or stopped in during her
diagnosis.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Wayne, Valley; son, Scott
(Lauren), Halifax; daughter, Michelle Barnhill (Kyle), Halifax. She
leaves behind three beloved grandchildren, Ethan, Lukas and Liam, to
whom she adored and spoiled with boundless affection. Her unwavering
love and the precious memories she created will forever hold a special
place in their hearts.
Along with her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her
sister, Wendy Singer.
The family would like to thank Dr. Donald Rowe for his
passionate care over the last 8 months and her family doctor Dr. Carla
Armsworthy along with their staff.
Shirley’s family will receive friends from 1-1:45
p.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2024, followed by the funeral service at 2
p.m., Wednesday, May 29, at First United Church, 711 Prince Street,
Truro, Reverend Cathie Crooks officiating. Reception will follow in
Memorial Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pancreatic
Cancer Society, VON or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner
