In Loving Memory of Shirley Alfrida McGee
It is with heavy hearts that the McGee family announces the peaceful passing of Shirley Alfrida McGee on January 8, 2024 at Hyland Crest Long Term Care Home in Minden, Ontario in her 92nd year.
Shirley was the beloved wife of the late Douglas McGee. Loving mother to Brian (Rebecca), Wayne (Lisa) and Richard (Caroline). Adoring Grandmother to Jamie (Emily) and Chelsea. The proud Great Grandma to Sophia and Lucas. She is predeceased by her parents and siblings. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
She contributed greatly to those around her and was a vital part of every community she touched. Her strength will live on in her family and keep us all pushing forward to tackle the joys and challenges of life. Her caring and energetic spirit will be missed by all that had the pleasure of experiencing her light.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. A private family internment is planned for the spring.
In lieu of flowers, our family requests donations be made to Princess Margaret Hospital, an organization that gave us 13 extra years with someone we all loved so much and can be arranged through the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., P.O. Box 427, Minden, Ontario K0M 2K0.
