Obituary
If you felt the ground tremble in Milton, Ontario on September 21, 2023 it was the
passing of lifelong resident Sherry Martin-Currie.
Sherry was a gentle and kind soul who devoted her life to caring for others. If you grew
up or had family in Milton, it is highly likely she cared for someone you loved as a Nurse
at Milton District Hospital, Mount Nemo Nursing Home or Oakville Trafalgar Memorial
Hospital over the span of her 30 year nursing career. She never ran away from hard
things, often working two jobs and long shift work to make sure her children had the
opportunity to play sports, go on to higher education and turn their dreams into reality.
Sherry proved that you are never too old to start over as she deconstructed and
recreated her life at the age of 50 by going back to college, getting braces so she could
smile wider and eventually meeting and marrying her soulmate Roman. Sherry
considered her three children her greatest achievements. We note that these
achievements were soon surpassed by her grandchildren.
Heaven has gained another angel as Sherry is reunited with her beloved parents Eileen
and Duncan (Dick) Martin. Left to mourn on Earth are her brother Paul (Marg), her
adoring husband Ray Kwiatkowski, her children John (Adele), Jeffrey (Angela) and
Jayne (Matt) and grandchildren Tyler, Alexandra, Joshua, Nicole and Kaylee. She is
also remembered by her large extended Kwiatkowski family which due to sheer volume
cannot be named individually but made an incredible difference in her life. She will be
missed by Ray’s children Jamie (Jennifer), Mike, Dan (Mel), grandchildren Abigail, Ava
and Mya.
Sherry, we will miss your unassuming nature and overwhelming kindness. We promise
that you will still be the subject of many family jokes around the dinner table, but know
you will be smiling down and shaking your head at us all.
We love you and you will be missed. Until we meet again.
A family burial will be held at a later date.
