Obituary
Sheldon passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, at the age of 94. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Alice, of 66 years and his daughter Jane. Beloved father of Jim (Monica-deceased) and Tom (Maxine). A cherished grandfather of 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was the eldest boy of 6 children born to Mamie and Joseph Mainville. Sheldon was a proud police constable at the Ontario Northland Railway for 35 years until his retirement in 1984. He was a very humble man with a big presence and loved to make people laugh with his quick wit. He had a great love for the outdoors and cherished the many memories of hunting, fishing, and spending time at the camp.
The family would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Dr. Buckley and ALL the staff on A1 at the NBRHC for their loving care and support.
Sheldon was a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed by the many lives that he touched.
