Watson, Sheila:
Passed away on May 30, 2023 at Lisaard House in Cambridge, ON in her 55th year, with her loving husband by her side, and the love of her family surrounding her in her last days.
Sadly missed by her beloved husband Randy Watson and his daughter Cassy.
Predeceased by parents Daniel and Sheila Kelly.
Dear sister of Paul Kelly, Martin Kelly, Stephen Kelly, Adrienne Braun (Daniel)
Sister-in-law to Patricia Kelly, Linda Kelly, Darlene Edwards, Marilyn & Ross Newman and Nancy & Mitch Edwards.
Loving aunt of Chris Swiech (Sean), Jennifer Mayer (Kevin), Ryan Braun (Katie), Scott Braun (Stephanie), Sean Kelly (Josie), and Erin Kelly, and many great nieces and nephews.
Sheila will be greatly missed by her cherished childhood and best friend, Maria Perham (Zunic).
Although Sheila had many talents, she loved working with the elderly the most; she had a particularly soft-spot for them. Her most enjoyable work years were at Clair Hills Retirement Centre where she left an indelible mark on many. In 2016 she was off to find new adventures away from the city. Sheila and Randy moved from Kitchener to the serenity of Greenock, ON. There, they enjoyed all the beauty the area had to offer and were often found headed to the nearby beaches of Kincardine. She so enjoyed the visits from friends and family and having campfires in the backyard – it was a destination of choice for many, and she loved it. Sheila’s infectious smile, adventurous spirit, and great sense of humour will be missed by all who knew and loved her. And her stories – always entertaining!
The thing we learned most recently about Sheila is that she had so much strength and courage, and faced her recent illness with grace and dignity, often consoling those around her. A shining example to us all. Her faith played a big role in guiding her through her journey and there is comfort in knowing she is now with the Lord.
Special thanks to those who cared and lent their support to Sheila this past year; the nursing staff and PSW’s at Care Partners, the cancer units at London Health Sciences Centre, and Grand River Hospital. Also to Sheila D, and Brenda for their love and support, and Mary, her new-found friend who arranged special outings for Sheila. And to all of Sheila’s other long-time friends, who have sent messages of support. You all touched Sheila significantly.
Sheila’s family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Friday, June 2, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 66 Shanley Street, Kitchener, on June 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Roy’s United Cemetery, Fullarton.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Lisaard & Innisfree Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
