Obituary For Shawn Gillingham
It is with sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and friend, Shawn Gillingham.
Shawn was born in Corner Brook, Nfld, the youngest of six children. He moved around a lot in his younger years and settled in Grande Prairie in the late 1970’s. He got his shoe repair apprenticeship and opened 1st Choice Shoe Repair which he ran for over 20 years in town. He then shut down his shoe repair business and opened 1st Choice Tent and Awning and ran a successful business off his property.
The biggest joys of Shawn’s life were his family, and he was able to spend lots of time with his grandsons. We will remember his great sense of humour.
He will always be loved and remembered by his wife of 45 years, Brenda, daughter, Shawna (Rob) and grandsons Austin, Jayden, and Calvin.
A private memorial will be held for Shawn and a public Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
Thanks and deepest gratitude to our Health Care workers who provide care, comfort and compassion to loved ones and families.
