RILEY, Sharon Elizabeth – Entered into rest at the Ross Memorial Hospital on Saturday, December 9, 2023, in her 80th year. Sharon was the beloved daughter of Jean and Dan Riley, and foster niece of Rod Titus, all predeceased. Dear sister and unwavering and committed friend to Barbara Silver (Mike), Ruthanne Bell (the late George), and Heather Riley (the late Steve Imrie). Special aunt to Mark Silver (Melanie), Alana Bell (Brendan O’Malley), Scott Bell, and Keith Everson (Jackie). Sharon will be fondly remembered by great and great-great niece, and nephews; Shannon Johnstone (Steve), Shawn Silver, Joseph O’Malley, Patrick O’Malley, Thomas Bell, Luke Johnstone, Aaron Johnstone, and Jacob Silver.
At the age of 53, Sharon suffered a stroke leaving her paralyzed on her left side. Through sheer determination, and with grace and dignity, she lived independently maintaining her own home and gardens for another 26 years. In Sharon’s world the words “I can’t” were replaced with “how will I”, and she found a way. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. Sharon was a sweet, kind, and gentle soul who loved to sail, boat, and just relax at the lake. She loved her pets, her gardens, her card games, and time spent with family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Celebrations, 35 Lindsay Street North, Lindsay on Monday, December 18th from 12:00pm until 2:30pm, with words of remembrance at 1:00pm. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Stoddart Funeral Home.
