It is with profound sadness that we announce that Sharon Anne Susan Buttazzoni (Ackland) passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on April 13, 2023, at Maison McCulloch Hospice at age 73.
She was the beloved wife and soul mate of 44 years to Valerio Buttazzoni. Devoted Mom to Andrea (Mark Jale), Anthony (Emma Woodman) and Adam. Cherished and most loved Nonni to Gwyneth, Oliver, Emilia and Benjamin.
Sharon was born on December 6, 1949, to Albert and Yvette Ackland (nee Lalonde) in Sudbury Ontario. Dear sister to Gary Ackland (Barbara), Marlyn Klem, Judy Wolski (Ed), Mona Dusick (Cliff), Jim Ackland, Alan Ackland (Brenda), Sandra Ackland (proceeded), Dorothy Ackland, Donald Ackland, and Mark Ackland. She was Auntie Sharon to many loving nieces and nephews, and will be missed by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Sharon loved her family immensely and showed that love with her warm big squeezy hugs and her food. She loved cooking and having her large family gather together. Her love was big, and she warmed the room with her smile and sense of humour. She always said, “love you to the moon and back” and showed selflessness and acted with kindness and grace.
Her family will be forever grateful for the amazing and kind staff at hospice. Sharon tried to take care of the nurses as much as they cared for her. We will be forever grateful for their kindness and care.
In memory of Sharon, please plant a milkweed plant for her much-loved Monarch Butterflies.
