Shannon Dawn Wilson passed away on April 14, 2024, in Calgary, Alberta. Born on November 12, 1967, in Drumheller, Alberta. She was known for her dedication to taking care of others. Shannon will be remembered as an amazing mother, a loving and involved grandmother, and a wonderful daughter.
Throughout her life, Shannon touched the hearts of many with her responsible nature and unwavering commitment to caring for those around her. Her stubborn yet forgiving personality left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Shannon loved Indigenous culture and found joy in attending powwows. She found spiritual comfort in the traditional practice of smudging.
Shannon was not just a fantastic mother and grandmother, she was a great pet mama to Terror (grandma pit), Solo, Lola, Mylo and Mia.
Among her proudest accomplishments were her volunteer work at The Mustard Seed and Eastside Victory Outreach Church, where she selflessly gave her time to help those in need. Shannon’s legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Shannon Wilson is survived by her children, Crystal Wilson (Corey Martz), Ryan Wilson (Amanda Pinnell) & Meghan Thew; seven grandchildren, Jamie, Skylar, Joshua, Taylor, Micah, Autumn, Aurora; sister , Marlene Wilson; along with extended family and many friends. She is predeceased by her husband, Dwayne Thew; parents, Lawrence and Frances; and brothers, Larry, Gordy & Kelvin.
A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate the life of Shannon Dawn Wilson will be held at Pierson’s Funeral Services in Calgary, Alberta on April 23, 2024 at 1:00 PM
Shannon will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace surrounded by the love of her family.
