SAUNDERS, Donald Thomas – With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Don Saunders on Monday, November 04, 2024 at St. Joesph’s Hospice, Sarnia. Beloved husband of Mary (Nee Mitchell) for 55 years. Dear father of Michelle (Brad) Elliott and Christine (the late Joe 2023) MacDonald. Special grandfather of Mitchell (Celine), Allison, Jacob, Makenna and the grand dogs Hemi, Maggs and Maya. Survived by siblings Bettie Hartley (the late Don), Charlie Saunders, Ethel (Gary) Sitzes, Doug (Judy) Saunders, Reta Croucher (the late Melvin) and the late Ken (Evelyn) Saunders. Don will be remembered by his brother and sister in laws Gerry (Roger) Huard, the late John and Georgine Strangway, the late Johnny Mitchell, Bonnie (the late Ron) Strangway, Roger (Carol) Mitchell, the late Wayne (Eleanor) Mitchell and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his mother Mildred Saunders, Cecil (Buck) McDonald and his in-laws Gerald and Mildred Mitchell. Don enjoyed woodworking, camping, snowmobiling and especially enjoyed and loved being with his family. Don will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral Details
A private family service took place at Oil Springs Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice www.stjosephshospice.ca.
