CHIRICO, Sandra (nee Pretty) – We sadly announce the passing of our Mom, Sandy on Thursday, December 28, 2023. She died peacefully, at the age of 82, surrounded by her loving family. She will be dearly missed by her children, Cathy Serravalle (Tom), Randy, Susan Cunningham, Chris (Stacey), Vicki (Carl); and grandchildren Mark, Daniel, Claire, Michael (Lauren), Eric and CJ. Survived by siblings Lynda Aitchison, Mac Lennox, and Jane Lennox.
Her children and grandchildren were the absolute joy of her life, she delighted in every opportunity for all to gather at her home, especially at Christmas. Sandy was a long time employee at RBC until her retirement in 2006. A proud lifelong Chippawa resident, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, and solving crosswords. Our Mom was a great knitter, she’d often use this skill to make, and gift baby clothes. Mom had a soft spot in her heart for babies and dogs, especially her beloved Mopsey. Our Mom’s fierce dedication to her family, trademark “Hello” greeting, quick wit, and savviness will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Queenston Place for their kindness and compassion, and a special thanks to Nicole (NP) at GNGH.
A private service for family will be held. If you would like to remember our Mother, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice.
