Samuel “Sam” Savoury, passed away at his home at the Isle Madame Small Options Society in Arichat on April 22, 2023, at the age of 62 years.
Born March 23, 1961, in Arichat, he was the son of the late Vincent Sr., and Eva (Poole) Savoury.
Sam is survived by his brothers Allan (Ruth) Savoury, D’Escousse, and Levi (Debbie) Savoury, New Waterford; sisters Adeliad Lake, Toronto, Joyce Savoury Paine, Sydney; sister-in-law Shirley Savoury. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Vincent Jr. and Robert “Bob”; sisters Anita, Amalia, and Joan.
The family would like to thank Dr’s Kian Khodadad and Kwamena Beecham at the Cape Breton Cancer Center; Dr. Phillip Cooper and Kyla MacKeigan RN with Palliative Care, and Dr. Lawrence MacNeil for the special care and attention provided to Sam over the years. A special thank you is extended to his extended family, and Counselors at the Isle Madame Small Options Society for always being there for Sam. You went over and above to make sure he was cared for and well looked after. We will never forget that.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation per request. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Sam will be held in Our Lady of Assumption Church, in Arichat at a later date. Burial in St. John Anglican Church Cemetery in Arichat.
Memorial donations can be made to the Isle Madame Small Options Society Recreation Fund.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd., in Arichat.
