Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Sadie Wicks nee Hounsell, on Friday December 1st, 2023, at the age of 90 years.
Sadie lived a life full of kindness and love, she leaves to mourn with fond loving memories, her four children; Lorne (Valerie) Wicks, Ivy (Clarence) Wagg, Rita (Paul) Tiller, and Cordell (Trish) Wicks. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, in laws, a large group of extended family and friends.
Sadie was predeceased by her husband; Fred, and daughter; Peggy. She was also the last surviving member of a very large Hounsell Family.
A special thank-you to the Dr’s and nurses of Western Health who tended to moms every need during her brief stay. As well thank-you to moms home care workers over the past few years. You all made it possible for mom to live her days in her own home.
As much as mom loved her large gatherings, due to current family Covid conditions, we are unable to have an open funeral. We will honor mom’s life with a family graveside service and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Donations can be made to the St. David’s Anglican Church in Pasadena, The Pasadena Fire Dept, or a charity of one’s choice in Mom’s memory would be gratefully appreciated by the families.
