Masters, Sadie It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Sadie May Masters nee Barrett., announce her sudden passing at Carbonear Hospital on February 28, 2023 at the age of 90. Sadie was born on September 22,1932as the oldest of 6 children to Benjamin and Elizabeth Barrett of Monkstown, NL. On June 9, 1950 she married the love of her life William (Bill) Masters and together they raised 9 children. Sadie was predeceased by Bill in 1999, her parents Benjamin and Elizabeth Barrett, parents in law George and Lydia Masters, infant son, and son in law Norman Harris. Sadie was known for her hearty laughter, her love of life , her hard work and her kindness. During her days of living in Monkstown she worked as a servant girl in Port Elizabeth, on the farm in Winterland and as a janitor of the school in Monkstown. In the mid 90s Sadie and Bill left their hometown and moved to New Chelsea, where she lived in her own home until her passing. Sadies passions were her church and her family and friends. She will be forever remembered and missed by her sons Fred(Joan)St Albert, AB, David (Sheila),St John’s, Joe ( Pauline)Hts Content, Onslo(Eileen), Hants Hr, Arley( Darlene), Grand Bank, Norman( Jennifer) Lab City, and daughters Lydia(Arch) Penney, Paradise, Malvena Harris,Mount Pearl, Doreen ( Guy) Short Hants Hr, grandchildren Dwayne, Holly, Stephanie,Bradley, David,Suzanne,Joey,Brian, Jamie,Crystal, Noel,Adam, Michelle,Natasha, Amanda,Tyler, Tristan, siblings Bob, Martha Jean, Melva,Ben (Sheila), Howard (Ruby), and special feline companion Annie. Donationsmay be made to Lower Trinity Salvation Army . Visitation at Greens Funeral Home , Winterton on Friday March 3, from 2- 4 pm and 7- 9 pm. Funeral service to take place on Saturday March 4, at 2 pm from the Salvation Army Citadel, Winterton. Officiating clergy Majors Arley and Darlene Masters.
