Ruth Thompson Obituary
Ruth passed away peacefully at Lee Manor on Monday, March 4, 2024. Born in Welland on October 12, 1942, Ruth Loraine Thompson (nee Britt) was in her 82nd year.
Beloved wife of the late George (Alf) Thompson. Proud Mom of Karen Best (David) and the late Christine Rac. Loving Gramma of Jason (Jesse Bond), Jeremy and Jeffrey. Cherished Great G-ma of Maverick and Olivia. Beloved sister of Janet Van Vliet, Evelyn Poulin (Phil), Kathy Healey, Jack Britt. Ruth will also be missed by her nieces, nephews and many friends.
Predeceased by her parents Evelyn and John Britt, sisters June Nicholls, Laurie Shoup, niece Brenda Van Slack, and daughter Christine Rac.
A funeral service to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on March 16, 2024, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior with reception to follow. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery at 1 pm.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Owen Sound Animal Shelter, or Canadian Diabetic Society would be appreciated.
