Obituary of Rosina Mazzotta
Mazzotta, Rosina (nee Altomonte)
Passed away peacefully in her 99th year with family by her side on Sunday, June 25, 2023. Born in 1925 in Curinga, Italy, Rosina was predeceased by her husband Joseph. She will be remembered by her sons Roy, Tony (Mary) and Frank, and grandchildren Karen da Silva (Mike), Robert (Kate) and Amanda Alessi (AJ). She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren, Lauren, Jamie, Nathan, Gabrielle, and Samantha.
Rosina was predeceased by her parents Antonio and Laura Altomonte, sister Concetta (late Joe Molinaro), brothers Vito Altomonte (late Maria) and Carmelo Altomonte (Angelina), and brother-in-law Angelo Boffa (Florence.) She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.
After immigrating to Canada in 1952, Rosina and Joseph worked tirelessly to raise their family and they valued the opportunities offered to them by their new homeland. Rosina was a dedicated parishioner and supporter of St. Mary’s Church and had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Over the years she enjoyed the experience and fellowship of many bus pilgrimages to various shrines throughout Ontario.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Willow Way, 4th Floor East at Dearness Long Term Care for the care and compassion they provided our mother.
