27th, April, 1934 – 07th, December, 2024 After a long battle with Alzheimer’s, it is with profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our loving and beautiful Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother (Nonna/Ma), at age 90. Rosina was born 1934 in Satriano, Calabria Italy and came to Canada in 1966 to give her family a better life. Rosina leaves behind her heartbroken children Domenic Riggitano, Gelorma Angelini, Teresa D’Olimpio (Leo), Josie Belisario (Larry), Angela DeSimone (Frank), Pasquale Riggitano (Rosa) She will
be reunited with her beloved (predeceased) parents Teresa and Giuseppe Santaguida, she will be greatly missed by all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Aurora (late Antonio) Nocita, late Antonio(Toto) (late Concetta) Santaguida of Montreal, Rocco (Aurora) Santaguida, late Teresa(late Pietro) Ranieri, late Nina(late Bruno) of Jasper, late Maria(late Gabriele) Farriol of Argentina, Mario
(Dora) Santaguida, late Giuseppe(Peppino)(late Marianna) Santaguida, she will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends from all of Canada/US and Europe.
Rosina will be fondly remembered for her kindness, giving, caring nature, and being a hard worker who made sacrifices, enduring many hardships in her life, though she managed to put family first before herself. She found joy in her passion for taking walks around the neighborhood of Rosedale and cooking for family, extended family and friends. Rosina also enjoyed playing Tombala (Italian Bingo card #45) during holidays
also enjoyed playing Kiwanis Bingo on Monday nights with the family while having her Chamomile tea and eating her biscotti cookies. Our memories will last in our hearts forever.
A special thank you to the compassionate staff at Regina Gardens Long Term Care Residence at Mohawk Trail, no words can express how grateful the family is of the care you provided her till the end.
We would also like to extend a special thanks to Rosina’s niece Maria Nocita for her assistance during these difficult days.
Visitations will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home 1010 Botanical Dr. Burlington, Ontario (905) 527-0405 on Thursday December 12th, 2024 from 5:00-8:00pm. Funeral Service in the Chapel of Bay Gardens Funeral Home (Burlington) Friday December 13th, 2024 at 10:30am, Interment service to follow at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Cemetery 681 Mud St E, Stoney Creek, Ontario (905) 643-0189
In lieu of flowers a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of your choice can be made in her memory.
