Rosemarie Knauer
December 28, 1929 – February 22, 2024
Passed peacefully at Matthews House Hospice in her 95th year. Rosemarie (Rose) was born in Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1960, with her husband and 2 young sons. She will be remembered as a dynamic woman who loved history and academics. She shared fascinating stories of her childhood and early adulthood during wartime in her homeland. Many of us were fortunate to receive one of her lovingly crafted knitted creations.
Rose is predeceased by her husband, Johannes (John). She is survived by her son, Klaus (Ellen). Grandmother to the late Elijah Knauer, Joshua Knauer, Maia Knauer, Nicholas Knauer, and Kyle Walton. Special thanks to Kingsmere Retirement Home and the special angels at Matthews House Hospice. Cremation with a celebration of life to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Matthews House Hospice in Alliston would be greatly appreciated.
