With deep sorrow the family of the late Rosaire Lafond announces his passing on Tuesday June 25, 2024 at the Temiskaming Hospital after a courageous battle with Cancer, at the age of 76 years.
Loving and devoted husband of 56 years Rejeanne (nee Robert), father of Robert (Nathalie Rivard) and Eric (Melanyse Labonte). Cherished grandfather of Nathen (Elizabeth) , Shelby, Jarred (Chyanne) , Abby, Olyvier and Rosaly
and cherished great-grandfather of Alexander and William. Dear brother of Rose Eva, (Rheal Leveille), Claire (Andre Boileau) and Bernadette (Doriah Robert). Rosaire is predeceased by his sister Rose Eva and by his parents Alfred Lafond and Lea Ethier.
Rosaire, also known as ‘Rosy’ moved to New Liskeard in May of 1979 as he and his wife purchased the local Shell gas station and car wash in the downtown core. He worked many jobs at his business and was liked by customers for his honesty, integrity and his sens of humour. He retired in 2007 to enjoy his hobby farm, and taking care of numerous buildings to renovate as he was and avid carpenter. He loved riding his side by side, camping and visited many classic car shows. But Rosaire’s greatest enjoyment was any time spent with his family. He was a loving husband, father, friend and loved to tease laugh and enjoy life to the fullest. He will be remembered as very generous and would give time to friends and family to help with their projects.
The family of the late Rosaire Lafond will receive relatives and friends at the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home [421 Shepherdson Rd. New Liskeard] Tuesday July 2 from 7:00 – 9:00pm and again on Wednesday July 3 from 9:30 -10:30am. The memorial mass will follow at Eglise Sacre-Coeur, New Liskeard at 11:00am. Inurnment will take place at the Belle Vallee Cemetery at a later date. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Community Cancer Care.
