Ronald Rivers
The family announces with great sorrow his peaceful passing at the Timmins and District Hospital on Sunday November 12, 2023 at the age of 86 years. Loving husband of 60+ years to Alice Rivers, mother to Ken Rivers (Christine) and Sherri Rivers (Frank) of Timmins. Cherished grandfather to Cassandra Morel (David) and Merranda Rivers. Dear brother to Clifford Rivers and a great grandfather to Charlie Morel. He was also predeceased by his son Gary Rivers, great granddaughter Rèmi Morel, his brother Rodney Rivers and his parents Regina and Joe Rivers. Beloved friend to many and neighbours at the Kenogamissi cottage, where coffee was best enjoyed on the dock every morning. Ron was a hard-working man and took pride in his work at Kidd Creek Mine for 32 years and later in 1993 when he opened Porcupine Air Tools. When Ron wasn’t focused on work, he was travelling to Florida with his great love Alice. Nothing made Ron happier in life than being a grandfather and would do anything for his grandchildren. Many fond memories and great laughs will be remembered. Fly high Papa, time to show baby Rèmi how to play Barbie’s . A celebration of life will be held on Saturday December 2, 2023 at 2:00pm located at 210 Spruce Street South in Timmins. Remembrance donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
