1942-2024
Ronald Perry «Ron» Wood, age 82, of Greenwich,
passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024. Born in Kentville, Ron was
the son of the late Leona (Ells) and George Wood.
Ron was an outgoing man who enjoyed socializing with friends
and family. He found great joy in spending time with his beloved wife,
Sylvia. Together, they regularly attended jam sessions, where Ron
could be found playing his harmonica, the room always full of music
and laughter. In his younger days, Ron also enjoyed the thrill of
boxing.
One of Ron’s greatest passions was riding his
motorbike with Sylvia. Together, they traveled thousands of
kilometers, exploring the open road and creating unforgettable
memories. When the weather was nice, they would take their bike and
trailer for camping trips, enjoying the beauty of nature and each
other’s company.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Wood (Peter Huntly);
grandson, Clayton Wood-Huntley; brother, George (Joan) Wood; sisters,
Barbara (the late Gerrett) Faber and Georgina (the late Frank) Taylor,
as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by his wife
of 59 years, Sylvia; brother, Frederick Wood, and sister, Helen
Nord.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation
to Virginia and Marvin DeAdder, for their lifelong friendship and
support. They would also like to express their appreciation to the
staff of White Family Funeral Home, for their kindness, and their
support with the family over the years.
Following Ron’s wishes, there will be no visitation
or funeral service, instead, a celebration of Ron’s life
will be held at his daughter Cheryl’s place, at a later
date.
Donations in memory may be made to Diabetes Canada or the
Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White
Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. Online
