MORSE, Ronald (Long Time Employee of Bell Canada):
Peacefully at Hospice Peterborough on Monday, June 24, 2024 in his 91st year. Ronald, beloved husband of 65 years to the late Lois (nee Duggan d. 2019). Loving and devoted father of Gordon, Donald (Sally Anne), Gerald (Lilianna), and Diane Larry (Brian). Cherished Grandad of Rebecca (Connor Johnston), Heather, and Hillary Morse, Sterling and Royce Larry, and Great-Grandad of Rowan Johnston. Survived by his sister-in-law Jean Morse. Predeceased by his sister Barb Harvey (Doug, predeceased), and brother, Jack Morse. Remembered lovingly by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late Ralph Morse and Frances Stevenson.
Born in Scarborough Ontario, Ron moved to Peterborough in 1958, and celebrated a long career with Bell Canada.
He was active in the community including being a devoted member of Mark Street United Church, and a regular member of the Church Choir. He was also known for his involvement in Boy Scouts, the Peterborough Horticultural Society, and the Peterborough Woodcarvers.
Ron enjoyed time outdoors, including gardening, camping and days at the family cottage, fishing and sailing on his beloved boat “Cloud 9”.
In keeping with Ronald’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will take place in Highland Park Cemetery. A public Celebration of Life will be announced in the future. In memory of Ron and in lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Peterborough, who provided such wonderful and compassionate care, would be appreciate by his family.
