Ron passed away peacefully on August 28, 2023, in his 85th year, at Hospice Huronia Tomkins House in Penetanguishene.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lesia Mucy, as well as his parents, Michael and Nellie Mucy, and brothers-in-law Leo Duchaine and Paul Furdyk. Ron is survived by his siblings, Janice Duchaine (Leo), Carol Humphrey (Barry), Mark Mucy (Patty), and sister-in-law Marcia Furdyk (Paul).
Ron will be dearly missed by his extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends with whom he spent so many happy times. He was very proud of his nephews and nieces and their various endeavours.
Ron was an avid collector, enjoyed nature and gardening, travelling including sailing, canning and cooking, music, current events, and volunteering his many talents, including handyman repairs whenever needed. Forever remembered for his ability and willingness to mentor and help others in need.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated medical, nursing and support team at Georgian Bay Hospital, Midland, for the exceptional and comforting care provided to Ron, as well as Hospice Huronia during his final days.
Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W. (between Islington and Kipling), on Wednesday, September 6 from 10-11 a.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 11 a.m. Interment Wyevale Cemetery on Thursday, September 7, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Georgian Bay General Hospital (gbghf.ca/donate-now/) or Huronia Hospice (hospicehuronia.ca/donations) are welcome.
