After a brief illness Ron passed peacefully Friday, November 4, 2023 at the age of 89 surrounded by the love of his family at Ed’s House Hospice. He is survived by his wife Anne Sargent (nee Gibson) who he shared 67 years of marriage with. Ron is the loved father to David (Laura) Cheryl (Ed) and Craig (Kimberly). Loved Poppa to Dana (Rob) Johnny (Émeline) Shane (Savanah) and April (Logan) and loved great Poppa to Peyton and Lincoln. Pre-deceased by his sister Audrey (Mansel) as well as his sister-in-law Mae (Lloyd) and brother-in-law Jack. Ron will be greatly missed by his sister-in-law Carol as well as all of his extended family. Ron was deeply involved in his community and his presence, passion and dedication will be dearly missed by his church and choir family, his tennis and pickleball friends as well as his numerous volunteer members that he was honoured to work along side.
A visitation will take place at MacCoubrey Funeral Home Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 5:00 -7:00 PM. A service will take place at MacCoubrey Funeral Home Thursday, November 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM with a one-hour visitation prior at 10:00 AM. Following the service, friends and family will be welcomed to the MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre. To those who wish to attend, burial will take place at 2:00 PM at Cobourg Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre.
