It saddens us to inform you that Ronald Bourdon passed away in the wee hours of Friday, December 8, 2023 at the North Bay Regional Health Center with his children, grandchildren, siblings and best friend by his side.
Ron is predeceased by his wife Ernestine (Labrosse), his parents Paul and Anne Marie and his sister Monique Bourdon.
Ron is survived by his children; Carole Turner (Tim), Raymond Bourdon (Vicky), Viviane Bourdon(Tom), Luc Bourdon and his dear companion Yvette Shryer; his siblings; Jean (late Carol), Richard/Joe (Madelaine), Pauline Dion (Late Gerry), Peter (Yvonne), Jackie Pepin (Mike), Denise Raymond (Denis), Sue Martin (Mike Parent), Paul (Diane), Gerry (Lisette), Nicole Kingsbury (André), Joanne Arsenault (Troy), Marc (Michelle), Mike (Denise), his 8 grandchildren, and both great grandsons.
He will be remembered by countless nieces and nephews and by everyone that was fortunate to have met him
Ron served in the Canadian Military, changing paths to become a truck driver. Ron retired from Star Transfer after a long and enjoyable career. He spent his retirement creating special memories at the camp with his “adopted” son Eric and his great niece Nathalie; going for coffee at Tim Hortons, making them their most loyal patron. Ron loved working with his hands repairing, building and wood working. Ron often spoke with a smile, telling many stories that captured the attention of young and old.
You will be missed, Dad, brother, Pepère, Dede, love and friend. Until we meet again.
Thank you to all the nurses, doctors, hospital staff, volunteers and family who helped us navigate through the last 15 months. Special thanks to Giselle and the staff at ACU, Jennifer Castle Home, Dr. Hearst’s team at Sudbury Cancer Center (all of our angels).
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Friday, December 15th, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Burial will take place at a later date. Condolences can be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
