It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Potter on Wednesday April 26, 2023 at the Milton District Hospital at the age of 94. Predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Phyllis and his daughter Veronica. Brother of the late Bill, Sheila and Norman.
Loving father of Bryan (Loreen) and Jean (Mark) Yorke. Adored grandfather of Andrea (Eli), Kevin (Jess), Eric (Lisa), Amy (Scott), Stacey and Tanner (Kirstie). Dearly loved by his great-grandchildren Everett, Grady, Walker, Miller, Madden, Claire, Lily and Sierra.
Ron will be sorely missed by his companion, partner in crime, Olive.
Ron served in the Air Force from 1947 – 1949 as a mechanic at the Training Centre. Ron and Phyllis came over on the boat from England in 1958 with their son. They stayed with relatives and in 1958 they settled in Milton where they went on to have 2 more daughters.
Ron worked at Canada Brick and retired from Canada General Electric. He stayed home for 6 months and found a part time job at Manheim Auto Auction until Phyllis’s health started to decline and by then he was in his 80’s.
Ron was never a man to sit still. He enjoyed always helping others as a handyman, mechanic, as well as a teacher. He took special joy in always being there for his children and grandchildren. Ron was proud of being an Ambassador for the residents of Milton Seasons where he had been living for the last 8 years.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 2, 2023 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. and the funeral service will be held on
Wednesday May 3, 2023 at 11 a.m. at McKersie & Early Funeral Home located at 114 Main St. E., Milton, Ontario (905) 878-4452.
He will be missed by all.
