Roland «Rod» Douglas Rhoddy passed away on October
25, 2024 at home surrounded by his wife Kathy, step-daughter Tracy
Madower, sister-in-law Judy Grant, along with his devoted kitties
Bailey & Tia.
Rod was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 38 years,
as of May 5, 1986. Over the years he enjoyed touring the province on
his motorcycle with his wife, and anything that involved the outdoors,
especially cutting down trees and gardening.
Rod leaves behind his loving wife Kathy of 31 years. He had
two step children, Tracy (Kevin) Madower of North Alton, Robert
(Carol) DeEll of South Greenwood and son, Michael Rhoddy (estranged)
of PEI. He had three grand-children, Courtney, Caitlin, Warren and a
great-grandson Evander.
The family would like to thank Dr. Nathan Mcguire, Palliative
Care doctors and nurses, as well as the VON nurses who all cared for
his needs during his illness. A special thanks to his best friends
Betty & Bill McLain, Kaylah McLain and Doris & Stan
Rose for always taking care of his wife Kathy during this very
stressful time, which was very important to Rod. Also, a special thank
you to the R.A. Corkum Funeral Home Ltd. for their compassion at this
difficult time.
There will be no service or celebration of life, as per his
request. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a
donation of your choice in his honor.
