Obituary
RECINE, Rodilio ‘Rod’ – Passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer on Thursday August 29, 2024 at the age of 75. Beloved husband of 52 years to Rita (nee Mollica) and cherished father of Angelo (Chiara) Recine, Rodilio ‘Rod’ Jr. (Taylor) Recine, Tania (Kenton) Penner. Loving nonno to Isabella, Giulio, Milana, Vienna, Iyla and Aiden. He will be fondly remembered by his sister Filomena Lancia, sisters-in-law Tisiana Recine and Lucy Mollica, brothers-in-law Bruno Mollica and George Guglielmi. Predeceased by his parents Giulio and Angela (nee Guglielmi) Recine, his brother Mario Recine, and his in-laws John and Ascenza Mollica, Gino Mollica, Enrico Lancia, Filomena Silvestri and Ida Guglielmi. He will be greatly missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends located in New York, Italy and Ontario. Rodilio grew up in Ripi, Italy. He spent many summers tending to his vast garden and making wine in the fall. But most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren especially around a delicious meal made by his loving wife. The Recine Family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital especially his oncologist Dr. VanderMeer, nurse Deb, the attending oncologist Dr. Bokhari and the terrific nurses on the 3B oncology ward. As well as his family physician Dr. Thiab and the home care nurses who provided such great care. Family and friends are invited to join the Recine family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Thursday September 5, 2024 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. The Funeral Mass will take place Friday September 6, 2024 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Scapular Church, with the Rite of Committal to follow at Fairview Cemetery. In memory of Mr. Recine, memorial contributions may be made to The Niagara Health Foundation, and would be appreciated. Online condolences at pattersonfuneralhome.com
