Brown, Robert (Bob) Stewart
It is with great sadness that the family of Robert (Bob) Stewart Brown announces his passing on December 21, 2024, at the age of 71 after a three-year battle with cancer. Cherished husband and high school sweetheart of Pat Brown (nee Gibson); together for 56 years, married for 49. Proud father of Amy (Chad) Koteles, Adam (Angela) Brown, Genny (Ryan) Shaw, Carrie (Cole) Pearn. Loving Gramps of Claire, Jacob, Nicholas and Ethan Koteles, Selah Brown, Hazel and Rosalie Shaw, Callum and Freya Pearn. Brother of Ron (late Sharon) Brown and the late Dianne (George) Harris. Bob was a very dear brother-in-law to Ray and Gail MacCarl and Jane Gibson. He will be missed by many additional extended family and friends.
Bob enjoyed an impressive career of over 50 years in the drainage and sewer and watermain industry. He worked at Coldstream Concrete his entire life, becoming president in the early 1980s. Having succeeded his father (Chester) and brother (Ron), Bob was proud to leave the company with his daughter, Amy Koteles, at his retirement in 2022. He was recognized with an honorary lifetime membership by the Land Improvement Contractors of Ontario and served as Chair of the Canadian Concrete Pipe and Precast Association. Bob respected the men and women who worked for Coldstream Concrete as essential for the success of the company.
Industrious, generous, and community-minded, Bob was an entrepreneur who valued hard work, celebration, and fairness. He cherished his family, giving them priority in both time and focus. He loved to camp, boat, fish, and hunt for a good deal.
A visitation will take place on Friday, December 27th, 2024 from 1-3 and 6-8pm at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY. A funeral service will take place the following day at the funeral home on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 11am. Interment to follow at Friends Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the St. Joseph’s Hospice of London, Friends Meeting House, Melville United Church, or the Poplar Hill Lions.
