Obituary of Robert Austin
Robert Gordon “Bob” Austin, age 84, of Westville passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at his home.
Born in Stellarton, Robert was the son of the late Henry and Lillian (Gordon) Austin.
Robert joined the Canadian Armed Forces and served in the Black Watch for 12 years. Later Robert worked at Michelin for over 30 Years. He was very active in the Royal Canadian Legion and was a Past President of Branch #34 New Glasgow where he enjoyed playing darts.
Robert is survived by his wife of 64 years Mary (Daley); sons and daughter, Robert, Richard (Thelma), Heather and Jerry (Tracy) and brother Wayne (Donna). He is also survived by grandchildren, Christopher and Blair Selig; Zack and Brandon Austin; Jeffery MacDonald, Callen and Carris Austin and Noah Mailman; great grandchildren, Grace Ann, Kraige, Jenna and Deckland.
Robert was predeceased by daughter Arsenna Selig (Joe); twin sister Jean Conway (Hubert); daughter in law Donna and grand daughter Carson.

His family will receive visitors on Thursday, September 21, at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #34 will conduct a service 6:30 Thursday at the Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, September 22, at Eagles Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joanne Neal officiating. The funeral service will be streamed and may be watched by clicking on the following link (link to be posted on Wednesday)
