Passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener at the age 94.
He was the dearly loved husband of the late Hazel (2022) for 70 years.
Loving father of Karen Walls, Jane Kurisko, Paul Clubine (Carmen) and Sue Duimering (Joe).
Cherished grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Bob was born and raised on the family farm in Stouffville. He met Hazel at Toronto Bible College. They married and moved to KW in 1952 where Bob attended Waterloo Lutheran University and teacher’s college. They spent 13 years serving as missionaries in Jamaica where Bob co-founded and taught at Fairview Baptist Bible College and high school. Upon returning to Canada in 1971, he taught for 24 years at Margaret Avenue Senior Public School in Kitchener. Bob and Hazel were members of Benton Street Baptist Church where he faithfully taught the adult Sunday School class and served as a deacon for many years. He was famous for his repertoire of jokes and puns, his woodworking projects and being «Mr. Fix it.» In his final years, Bob enjoyed the gift of spending time with all the generations of his family.
Bob’s family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 followed by the service in the funeral chapel at 4:00 p.m. Reception to follow. Private family interment at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener. Those unable to attend may join the service via live stream at www.henrywalser.com/live-streaming
