Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Robert Solda, of Campbellville, on November 19, 2023,
at the age of 83.
Robert was a loving husband to Claire for 58 years, a dedicated and proud father to Mark (Jodie Stutt) and Adrienne (Daniel Smith), and a doting Granno to Genevieve (Aleks), Christopher (Christine), Jack, and Luke.
Rob was predeceased by his brother Luke of Toronto, and will be missed by his nieces and nephews.
Robert ‘s family immigrated to Galt (Cambridge) from Italy when Rob was a child and he went on to graduate from McMaster University in Hamilton. He enjoyed a fulfilling 30 year career at Ford of Canada. After retirement, Rob and Claire spent winters in Florida, and hiked many mountains while travelling the world.
Rob was a passionate gardener and will be remembered by his many friends as a lover of antiques, a great host and chef, and an avid reader. Rob was a special person to all who knew him, and he kept his family and friends close to his heart. He will be deeply missed.
In keeping with our Dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Family and friends are welcome to gather at McKersie-Early Funeral Home 114 Main St. E., Milton
on Wednesday, December 6 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
A funeral mass will be held at Holy Rosary Parish in Milton on Thursday, December 7 at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Milton District Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
