March 8, 1955 – June 14, 2024
We are so sad that our brother, the kind, gentle, soft spoken Robbie, at the age of 69, of Thunder Bay, Ontario, succumbed peacefully after a battle with Lung Cancer, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Friday, June 14, 2024. As days went on and his health weakened, he remained good-natured, and in great spirits. He never complained, and displayed his unwavering positive attitude to family and other visitors every day. The nurses said that Robbie was a “true treasure”.
ROBERT FIORITI was born in Montecilfone, Italy on March 8, 1955, the second son of Antonio and Antonietta Fioriti. He left Italy for Canada with his 3 siblings, Aldo Fioriti, Nicolina (Nicki ) Fioriti, and Pasqualino (Pat) Fioriti. In 1963 Kathy Fioriti was born in Canada, 5 siblings in all. We were very close and were raised to look out for each other. High school meant a lot to Robbie, he shined in those days. He loved all sports and excelled in wrestling and football. The Westgate football team that he was a part of won 5 years in a row! Robbie’s other loves were his muscle cars – the Mustang, Camaro, and Charger RT. He enjoyed competitive sports, fast cars, and girls. Life wasn’t always easy for Rob but he had the most positive, kind, sweet and gentle soul. We could all take a lesson from the way he embraced life.
Robert will be greatly missed by Aldo Fioriti and his children, Frank (Anita) Winters, Tracey (Lloyd) McCoy, Ericka Fioriti, Kerry-Anne (Aldan) Capnerhurst, and his grandson Xavier Fioriti; Nicki (Darryl) Spencer, their son Colin (Kimberely) Spencer; Pat (Denise) Fioriti, and their children Courtney (Chris), their daughter Hailey, Patrick, Brandon and Tess; as well as the youngest sibling Kathy Fioriti and her partner Armand.
Robbie was predeceased by his father Antonio, mother Antonietta and sister-in-law Elaine.
Funeral services will be held in WESTFORT FUNERAL CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street, on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 11:00am. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation- Regional Cancer Care.
