In Loving Memory of Bob, Uncle Bob, Dad, Gramps and Great Gramps
In his 91st year, Bob passed of natural causes in the kind care of the Parkview Home in Stouffville, located in the Parkview Village community, a place that he and his late wife called home for the past 27 years. Born in Toronto, Bob married the love of his life Shirley in 1957 and together they brought up their family in Don Mills. They raised 3 children along with several dogs and cats. Bob’s hobbies, strengths, and passion are too numerous to mention, but his love of singing and public speaking lead him to participating in several church and community choirs and fundraising plays.
Bob was a florist and a firefighter in Forest Hill, a specialist in firefighting equipment and training for Safety Supply and Ontario Hydro in Toronto, and a man of many talents.
His love of horseback riding lead to the purchase of his own horse and eventually a hobby farm was purchased in 1985 in Ballantrae. After 10 years of horsing around, Bob and Shirley moved into a Suite in the Parkview Village where they embraced community life in Stouffville. Bob was often seen exiting the underground parking lot on his rumbling motorcycle, usually destined to the residence of one of his kids to grab a coffee. Bob and Shirley were devoted members of St James Presbyterian Church in town and Bob was a member of the infamous Stouffville male chorus “Men of Note”.
Bob was a loving and caring husband to Shirley for 65 years. He is predeceased by his wife Shirley, his brother Jack and sister-in-law Dawneen, his daughter Susan, and his son Bruce. He leaves behind his son Brad (Venessa), his son in laws Peter and Ed, grandchildren Taylor (Robby), Erin, Courtney, John (Julia), and great grandchildren Mackenzie, Easton, and Cameron. In addition, Bob was valued as a father figure, grandfather figure and dear friend to so many who have shared that he made great impact in their lives.
Bob’s life will be celebrated and family and friends are invited to join as follows:
